Last month, my life was struck by a hair crisis. I had my hair cut too short and could no longer do my signature bun. It was a catastrophe because I wear my hair this way almost every single day. I had to do something about this and quick. Luckily for me I found the perfect tutorial on YouTube and it literally saved my life - or at least it saved me from fussing with my hair every morning.
The sock bun is so easy to do. I used to put my hair in a ponytail and twist/wrap the hair around the base and secure it with bobby pins. The sock bun doesn't even require bobby pins and even if I have thin hair my bun looks perfect every time...and it takes less than a minute!
Editor's note: Since I wrote this post, I updated my sock bun to a hair donut while using the same rolling technique. The sock bun is good to start with because it's very affordable. If you like the look on you, I would recommend that you buy a hair donut. They are lighter and come in different sizes.
